The Alamo Mission, which was once a Catholic Mission was built by the Spanish. The Texans courageously fought off Mexican troops here in 1836. 200 Texans held off 2 attacks against an attacking 1500 Mexican troops. And this battle is also how the State of Texas was born. Quite some history !
The Riverwalk Mall is your typical American mall but is right by the popular Riverwalk. You can shop here and take a lovely walk on the banks of San Antonio River also known as The Riverwalk.
A short walk from the Alamo takes you to the Riverwalk.
This orange sculpture is the Torch of
Friendship, created by famous Mexican sculptor Sebastian. Gifted by the Mexican government to San Antonio in 2002.
Ah ! The riverwalk. Beautiful colours, soothing water and yes you can also hear to some lovely local as well as Italian music.
Restaurants are lined up by the Riverwalk on both sides.
You can take a boat ride for $ 8.25 or $ 6 if you are a Bexar County resident.
You can find a number of ducks and their families swimming merrily in the waters. These were the only 2 white ducks I could spot.
The Street cars offer tours taking you to a number of tourist attractions San Antonio has to offer.
